Financial Rights Legal Centre Inc is a community based legal centre in Surry Hills specialising in financial services, particularly consumer credit, banking, insurance and debt. Financial Rights operates the National Debt Helpline, the first port of call for NSW residents in financial difficulty.
We are seeking a financial counsellor for a 12 month contract; we will consider part-time or full-time arrangements although we have a preference for at least 3 days per week.
The job primarily involves giving telephone information, assistance and referral on the National Debt Helpline. Some casework is involved, usually for remote clients and conducted via telephone and mail contact.
FCAN accreditation or willingness to work towards such accreditation is essential. Experience in financial counselling or similar assistance and advocacy service for disadvantaged members of the community preferred. Commitment to consumer rights and non-judgmental approach essential.
The Centre offers a pleasant working environment along with a small and friendly team.
