Financial Rights Legal Centre (Financial Rights) is a community based legal centre in Surry Hills specialising in financial services, particularly credit, banking, insurance and debt.
Our legal centre is a known and trusted voice for consumers in the financial services space. We are doing important frontline work advising consumers from across Australia about their financial rights and helping shape new laws to protect consumers and to enhance their future financial wellbeing. As our new Fundraising Officer, you will play a pivotal role in this important work and have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of countless consumers.
The role
As our Fundraising Officer, you will be at the forefront of managing and expanding our existing Government Grants, as well as developing and implementing innovative funding strategies to expand and diversify our funding streams. This is your opportunity to drive the financial stability of our organisation and help us extend our reach, making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals seeking our assistance.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a Financial Counsellor who embodies our values and is poised to drive our mission forward. Our ideal candidate will:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, showcasing expertise in successful grant management and securing grants for projects
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write compelling grant proposals, pitch decks and Government budget submissions
- Proficiency in digital fundraising strategies and campaign management, showcasing the ability to utilise online platforms and technologies to drive successful fundraising efforts
- Strong project management experience, with a proactive and organised approach
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability with the ability to tailor approach to the target audience
- Proven networking skills, excelling in connecting with others, influencing decision-makers, and expanding networks beneficial to the organisation's mission
- A passion for social justice and a deep commitment to making a positive impact
- Comply with NSW current public health orders and requirements with COVID vaccination
