We are doing important frontline work advising consumers from across Australia about their financial rights and helping shape new laws to protect consumers and to enhance their future financial wellbeing. From trainee to team leader

Marie joined Financial Rights in 2009 as a trainee financial counsellor after her banking role was made redundant. She saw a career in financial counselling as the perfect fit to build on her counselling skills while drawing on her extensive financial knowledge from the banking career. The role was a natural extension of her personality – she enjoys talking to people, helping them navigate complex financial issues, and putting her practical financial skills into meaningful use. Marie is now one of our Senior Financial Counsellors, who provide coaching, mentoring and supervision to a team of 9 financial counsellors. The team deliver advice and support over the phone and via online chat on the National Debt Helpline. Marie loves that her passion for social justice and making a difference in people’s life can be realised at Financial Rights.
