This year National NAIDOC Week 2026 ran from July 5th to 12th and the theme was 50 Years of Deadly, marking NAIDOC’s 50 year milestone.
Financial Rights is proud to support First Nations people and communities, evidenced in the formation of Mob Strong Debt Help and our ongoing support on their pathway to independence, as well as our Reflect and Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans. Our vision for reconciliation is for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to understand their financial rights and be able to enforce them.
Lynda Holden joined us in our office for a yarn about her life, book and the resilience of indigenous communities. Facilitated by Kate Sinclair, of the Justice and Equity Centre, Lynda shared an hour and a half of her time to gift us with an incredible wealth of knowledge and experiences.
The event was attended by staff, members of the Financial Rights board, and online by over 40 more community sector attendees.
For those of us fortunate enough to attend in person, catering was fantastic First Nations inspired cuisine provided by Supply Nation certified caterers Kallico.
