- Signal Failures
Home insurance pricing remains largely opaque. Consumers are often given a price without a definitive explanation of what insurers take into account when calculating it. This research examines the growing gap between the information insurers hold and what they tell their customers. It explains why greater pricing transparency matters for consumer trust, competition and household resilience. It identifies a missed opportunity: greater transparency could help households identify risks they can reduce, make informed decisions about renovations and upgrades, and also understand whether those investments will be recognised in their premium.
